Re: algebra/trig2
I already did the third, flame: 0 is less than or equal to x. x is less than or equal to 4.

Re: algebra/trig2
Then what you were given is wrong because it's trying to get you to factor four terms but that doesn't work right if the 2nd isn't to the 2nd power

Re: algebra/trig2
Well think about it.
If I plug in 0 (zero). It would still be true. Yet that's not in your answer.

Re: algebra/trig2
Because I was taught to find two definite answers and it's assumed that anything in between works.

Re: algebra/trig2
^^^Very wrong. You said "x= 8 or -1". That means that assumption isn't valid anymore.
But besides that, yes your answer of 8>x>-1 is correct. I solved it incorrectly. (Misread it)

Re: algebra/trig2
No. That is still wrong.
8>x>-1 is correct.
You could also do this in set notation or graph it. But using AND or OR in this question would be wrong.

<_<
My teacher always made us use and or OR rather than need interval notation.

no, this was on a review ditto for a test tomorrow and my answers didn't match up with what was on the answer key... but Laluna is an poor teacher and makes alot of mistakes so i thought i should check with you guys.
also Ahmed
x-3>-2x+4
that would become 3x>1 right? how does that reduce to 7/3? (I wish i dint sleep in class two years ago.)
