    In MICA class today...we were talking about how to test for amines...he explained the "phenomena" by saying that it smells like "dead fish" hahaha.

    Probably, only sayf will get it...haha

    Hopefully I don't get a compound with an amine...

    In other news...

    My final project (due in June) will be to prove what my substance is (I got vanillin)...

    As a matter of fact...Sayf, you took MICA...help me out...how do you prove vanillin is vanillin?

    From it's picture, it has an aldehyde, ether, benzene and alcohol. What tests?

    I got one... Chromic Acid test to prove there is an alcohol.
    2,4-DNPH test to prove there is an aldehyde. And Tollens test (Silver Mirror test) to be more exact.

    HELP ME OUT PLEASE!
