I think we can first and foremost agree that it is the leadership in the middle east that is most responsible ... you either have american puppets who are used by america and then killed when she doesn't like them anymore (despite feeding and putting them in power in the name of democracy) in order to try and keep a positive image with the people there and its own people ... but usually to little avail since most there see america is an evil warmongering entity ... or you have those like the leaders of Iran who are vilified day and night for not conforming to american interests ...
the first kind of leaders are secular and it is within these secular regimes that we've seen the most problems in ... Saddam Hussein was a secularist nationalist ... Khaddafi was the same ... and so was Hosni Mubarak ... but the second kind, despite being sanctioned and vilified to death, is more prosperous ....
So in light of all of this info, can anyone really conclude that religion is to blame? I mean religion did ally itself with 2 countries both at war with each other and supply them both with weapons so they could kill each other, now did it? religion isn't constantly invading these countries just because it thinks it owns the world, now is it?
