PortalWhen I first joined this forum, I really loved the debating. That was my thing. Ahmed and I would have regular debates about religion - and they were never angry. I really enjoyed that, and I look back on it as my best memory of anything on the internet. Unfortunately, it's not much more than a nostalgic thing now.
Now, the debates are horrible. Everybody's angry, and there's no reasoning with anyone. Most of the topics posted are only rants designed to cause anger, and we all know it. You can't deny it anymore. No one's opinion will ever be swayed, because we are all fixated on proving that the other is wrong, not that we are right, or that we have a better argument.
I really don't see the fun in it anymore.

Really? Wow, I'm actually having fun debating. Maybe you're taking it a bit "too seriously"?
I enjoyed debating at first too... It taught me things I previously didn't know. But now it just gets annoying sometimes.
I dont really debate much, but i read them on here and yeah, most of them end up in flaming.
It just doesn't do anything for me now ... even if you are "winning" its just "meh"
You know we could debate about other topics of interest like philosophy
i think almost everyone who debates on this forum has gone into rage mode at least once (preid multiple times LOL)
It was my first time going into rage mode
