btw i find it ironic that in RTW its generally agreed upon that the Seleucids are the best faction, but there really is no "best" faction in M2TW (excluding the Mongols and Timurids)

Best factions are Egypt and the Roman factions. They are the strongest (and some say overpowered).

Seleucids have the best unit roster ... Romans don't get elephants

And I'm about to attack a Scipii Roman settlement ... I took Syracus from the Greeks and then they offered a ceasefire ... and my faction leader died so I shipped my new one to Syracus to lead the battle ...

They're not that strong though. I beat them in my RTW Egypt campaign...Greeks were tougher IMO.

Romans have good infantry, better than Carthage, but that didn't save them







I slayed 2 Roman generals in this battle ... and its awesome how you can knock down gates with elephants

lol a Seleucids campaign is so easy that I beat it by only automating battles once! There so uber over powered if your playing them but the AI seems to suck as them.

Well we are talking about AI since it's the common thread between all factions.

RTW is a favorite in Multilayer because the battles are more challenging. If your not careful a single unit of peltast(spelling?) running can cause a mass rout.

battles are far to quick as well ... M2TW is more stable and reasonable ... imagine a Mongol invasion in RTW ... a field battle against them in RTW would be a nightmare

what do you mean? I could see myself sending my spear men right down the center while I guard my flanks with heavy cave. After that It's just using your light cav to Shepperd the AI into a flank.

yeah ur spearmen will route before they even get there and LOL @ your heavy cav lasting against their missile fire ...

its actually best to use artillery and stuff in a field battle against them and wait for them to come to you ... attacking head on is suicide ... they'll easily outmaneuver you and decimate your forces ... and the Timurids are even worst ....

back to RTW ... taking a break from M2TW ...
