It is a debate:

Did science go to far? Is science supposed to mess with nature like this?

Is science sopost to exist at all? I completely coubt it, and hate it...
But yes, they can go that far, they can go farther, I mean they praised when a zedonk was born...

Well... That's what happens with science, but they shouldn't because that effects everything's nature.

And lol, if an infant lost his male part then the easiest thing to do is make him a girl. Science failed.

It's sad really. It's the first doctor's fault for using cauterization on such a sensitive part of a body, and a baby no less. But, they did what they thought was best for him and that's really all you can do. Surgically reconstructing a penis really is hard, it's difficult to achieve it rather than a vagina, which for the most part you have to dig out a part of his genital area and you don't even need to construct a uterus.

Well they could have just left him alone. Its not the end of the world if you don't have "sexual pleasure"...and that's what happened at the end too.

I think its Dr.Moneys fault and the parents.

P.S.: But how would they make the constructed vagina sensitive? Special skin tissue?

I'm not exactly sure about the procedure but it's a joke among doctors that it's easier to make a hole than build a pole.

It wasn't only sexual pleasure though. Having a...less than average penis on most men make them feel inadequate and since they couldn't reconstruct it, they legitimately thought that he would have a better time in life if he thought he was a female. They were using experimental psychological...theories (I don't really want to call it a theory).

Well it wasnt his fault that it got destoryed. So he shouldn't be embarassed...

It doesn't matter that it's not his fault. It's that he's lacking in something, especially sexually (which most Western men care about) cause his self esteem and sense as a man to decrease and create depression.

And btw, the article said it got burned. That means it was still there but useless. If as we agreed that sexual pleasure isn't the problem...then it would have been fine as it is.

No. It get burned so much it couldn't be reconstructed. That means a significant part was burned off, more than the foreskin. And they didn't know that turning him into a girl would do that, they honestly thought it was best for him.

I still don't think that scicne should ever have the excuse of altering nature...

Glory people are alive today because we alter nature, even the lord tells us to alter nature by killing other creatures for food. you know there are people who pay to be like him.

Those need phscological help...not physical surgery.
