talking is a 2 way process, what if you needed an answer to a specific problem? Something which is unclear in the book? Would god convince you it was the right answer when you found it?

Yes, I do talk to God most of the time. When I'm happy, acomplishment, or sad, disappointment, I always talk to Him. Although I never feel God talks back to me, I feel Him does listen to what I'm saying.

I would say it is possible to speak to God (i.e., via praying) but it is God who has left his manifest signs in the earth and universe as pointing towards his Ultimate Reality (not merely his existence, but also his impeccable attributes, the personal attributes are a much deeper theological discussion though). He will not directly speak to us, but we would know for sure he exists and that by examining the claims of divine reveltaion (that God has actually communiated to us humans at times in history) is a vital research that could lead to belief in these scriptures and that would expose God's own words being brought upon us. This is the only possible communication from God you'll ever find in your life. And these lucky mediaters between God and man would hence be the prophets themselves.
