No, you're thinking literally. You need to think abstractly, and think: What are the losses of war? Money? Resources? Lives? When you win the war, what do you win? Nothing (that compares to the loss of a human life).

Re: Russia Vs. Georgia
iCheese I know war is bad, why do you think I dread a certain someone who is currently a guest in Beijing watching the Olympics? He satrts with a "b"
Anyhow, I researched on Oseetia and I foun out that Oseetaia is settled by peopel that speak the eastern Iranian dielct. It is also split between Russia and Georgia. Russia has the north while Geogria has the south. So I am guessing Russia wants the whole.
Who thinks that Geogia shoudl give up, since its a lost war and hundreads are hurt and I forgot how many are already in the first few days of the war...

Re: Russia Vs. Georgia
Guys, the latest I heard was that the Prime Minister of Georgia made an appeal to the world to encourage Russia to settle at cease fire (I said they would have a truce, maybe). But apparently Russi ais not co-operating. I think Russia would demand the area to be included in its territory.

Re: Russia Vs. Georgia
Well, currently their is a semi-cease fire situation in the area. Both parties have declared a 'halt' in the war.
The White House, meanwhile, is playing the same old (and allow me to say rotton) flute:
The White House, meanwhile, is playing the same old (and allow me to say rotton) flute:
At the White House on Monday, Bush had demanded that Russia end a "dramatic and brutal escalation" of violence in Georgia, agree to an immediate cease-fire and accept international mediation.
"Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century," Bush said in a televised statement.

Re: Russia Vs. Georgia
While the fighting continues on and off, the UN Headquarters, here in NYC, saw a protest against Russain agitation and international help arrived in Georgia.
Furthermore, Russia told US to pick a side, in whose respond US declared full support of Georgia.
So it is a glimpse back at the Cold War, and an oppurtunity for US presidential candidates to elaborate on their foreign policies and try to win public (McCain has an edge over Obama on this one).

Re: Russia Vs. Georgia
No, US would not directly fight with Russia since the Congress will never allow it. However, the global politcs would sure, once again, suffer from agitation due to the exchange of tough words between these nations.
