RTW Juli campaign cont'd

since empire keeps crashing ( ) ill resume my Roman Juli campaign ... Carthage keeps besieging .. Carthage lol (I sacked it from them) and it looks like they'll finally succeed in taking it from me this time after like 3 straight attempts

I just took out a German army and am now pushing my way into Greek territory ... I saw the Brutii family go after them so I'm like hey, I'll join them ... the more the merrier ... I actually attacked Macedonia and not the Greek cities ... although I'm looking to take that giant Zeus statue from them ...

If you get the chance send an army to Rhodes, it has a great wounder to have for your economy if i remember correctly.

i gave up on Carthage but i destroyed all the buildings in it .... cheap tactic? sure but thats how it is

germans are waaay more annoying than Gauls ... i hate their spearmen! I'm trying to focus on Macedonia and I keep getting hit by the stupid Gauls and Germans .... I'm going to try and make peace with the germans and defend against the Gauls while finishing of the Macedonians and then heading towards the rest of Greece conquering them ... after that I'll resume with the Germans and maybe try and sail to Egypt ...

Sayf your dealing with Macedon fairly early on right? they get some serious killer cav latter in the game.

Quintus Victorious or whatever his name, soloed that Macedon ... well I kinda cheated when I used auto resolve to take Athens since there was no way I was gonna be able to beat them in a siege but hey thats how it is

don't let Egypt get to big, If it looks like their going to reach into turkey make sure you sucker punch them before it's to late. Same with Pontus reaching into Egypt.

Greeks and Germans are tough man, I'll admit to that ... these spearmen are ridiculous ...I mean I can handle the Greeks because I can recruit Hoplites of my own but in German territory I can't ... and all they have are spearmen

My best general just died in a battle against the Greeks .... we won but still ... I'm besieging Corinth right now btw ... and the damn Germans DESTROYED my entire stack I can't even make peace with them ... and they have no valuable settlements

Easiest to beat are the Gauls ... just flank them and its over LOL ...

the Germans spears pose a serious problem to and out right charge, Perhaps you should use some archers to thin the ranks a bit. Personally I send my infantry in to engage them then swing my cave around back to scatter them.

that was working but I decided to take out the smaller force first and stupidly sent too much cavalry towards them ... then next thing I noticed was all my guys routing and wardogs all over my general

stupidity on my part ... but even when I attacked them from the rear with cav they STILL managed to fight them off ... they're like monsters or something ... I don't even want to fight them like I said earlier

make sure you don't leave the Calvary in the fight! that's just suicide. What you should do is hit them with the charge, wait for a few sec, then pull out and repeat. It'll keep your cav alive and more powerful from that charge bonus.

my lines just didn't hold up ... i hate the germans man ... they're the biggest threat in the game IMO ...

Greek cities eliminated

I took Corinth in an auto resolve (sieges are hard as hell in this game ... especially against the Greek phalanx ) and then I immediately besieged Sparta ... I was really crushing the Greek cities by blockading their ports and everything so they rebelled and self imploded which marks the end of all 4 Greek factions ... two of which I eliminated, Macedonia and the Greek cities and I think Egypt or Pontus eliminated the Seleucids and Thrace


Good thing I didn't have to fight those freaking spartans

The Zeus statue is now mine btw ... I'm going after Rhodes next while defending against these insane barbarians ... there are now 3 barbarian nations at war with me ... stupid Dacia betrayed me and have now besieged a settlement of mine ... the worst part about these barbarians is that you can't choke them to death with blockades ... they have no coastal settlements

Britain is a barbarian in the game. Smite them!

dude i HATE the barbarians! they pop up with endless armies out of no where ... i dont' wanna get involved with them ... im going for diplomacy with Britannia ... I really have my eye towards Anatolia and Pontus which is actually a Greek faction ... I have to eliminate them all you know lol

why dont you just beat the barbarians down a bit and destroy all the buildings in the settlements you capture. then just give the land away to another faction or let them retake it.

i was thinking about just raiding their territories ... you know, like the Mongols do ... just attack, sack, destroy buildings and move on to the next settlement leaving the city to rebels ... I can actually overrun them like that and cause their faction to collapse ... I can get plenty of cash that way to help me fight the more "civlized" nations of Anatolia and Egypt ...
