    I, for one, am supportive of efforts for genetic modification. It can bring in a new breed of crops which can survive in poor conditions, feeding millions more and staving off world hunger. It can can cure genetic conditions that would normally doom a person to a life of hardship and pain.

    There used to be a huge debate over this, mostly over potential detrimental effects
