What I Learned Thread

Just trying to revive this lifeless forum, hopefuly this thread serve as a catalyst or do something to revitalize this place ..

Anyway, just post something you've learned ... also, this is not one of those "what did you learn today" threads either ...no confinement to a specific area in time.. just try to reference the source of your info for the sake of credibility ...so just try to post some kind of knowledge that will interest the reader ..

I have also learned that their are American politicians who think reasoning is valued more than economic or military status (ex: Ron Paul)

I learnt that expensive shoes work exactly the same as cheap ones, and are actually no different.

I am also learning that procrastinating is a veryyyyyyyy bad habit.

I learned that the pencil is stronger than the sword.

Of course it does. A missile is fired becasue an ideaology is backing it.

is it? The ideology, repeatedly in history, has proven to be more of anti-diplomatic and pro-violence than not. Examples: From Lenin, to Mao, to America, to Saddam, to Taliban and to Bush.

To stay on topic: I am learning that a journalist may be biased but not unfair.

I learn that's not true. Some teachers are jealous at student.

^^^Why would a teacher be jealous if they are teaching you and not vice versa?
