dark souls is a combat driven RPG, the story is there, but it takes a back seat, and you don't win because you levelled up, you win because you developed the skills to fight the monsters.

But now in all seriousness, Dark Souls is an awesome game if you can tough out being killed over and over. You are going to have a really great time with it. BTW, just about any boss with a tail can have its tail cut off to give you a special weapon but good luck if you want to try and get the better tails.
