ACT and Standardized Tests
So I took the standardized test, the ACT- well the practice for next year. I'm having trouble memorizing formulas. How am I supposed to remember the surface area of a cylinder? I'm in precalculus, so I'm doing stuff above the test questions, yet I can't remember basic geometry... Am I screwed?

Re: ACT and Standardized Tests
Umm...I haven't taken the SAT since like 3-4 years ago...so I don't really remember, but don't they give you some sort of formula sheet?

Re: ACT and Standardized Tests
I took the SAT in junior year, so do it at a time when you accumulate the most knowledge.

Re: ACT and Standardized Tests
BTW 2170 is a solid score. 2100+ is a solid score for any Ivy. After that range they start to look at other things. I have seen them reject 2300+s.

Re: ACT and Standardized Tests
I'm not telling you to go to an Ivy, I just said Ivy since they are usually the most competitive. The absolute smartest thing to do, like I said before, if you're planning on going to grad school afterwards, is to go to the school that gives the free-ride or most money. All colleges give the same education. It really just depends on what you do with it.Fangy wrote:I'm not going to an ivy it's a waste of my goddamn money

Re: ACT and Standardized Tests
I'm going to a community college for the first two years, so I'll be fine for a little bit.
I think my school will force me to this year tho.
