You never even change your name. Why are you so concerned?

The cost makes it look like changing a username is such an arduous task, when anyone could easily do it themselves in a matter of seconds.

The point is that it discourages changing your name every so often, and encourages legacy.

You can always tell who's who regardless because they already have a legacy. It's their personality and the way they type. For example, even if Fang and Sayf somehow managed to make their usernames/avatars/signatures identical, you would still easily be able to tell them apart.

It's not like name changes is out of control or anything anyway.

I don't think we're losing much even if the forum doesn't grow. You guys didn't change your usernames that often anyways. And most people here have about 10k points.
