Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
I can't resist not playing it till Winter vacation. So I decided to play it A BIT. I will play for like 30 minutes each day and update this slowly.
I just started the campaign today, nothing more.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
I want to get into these types of games, the only RTS's I've played are World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, Empire Earth 2, Age of Empires 3 and Axis and Allies. Most of them I have not finished.
This game is not linear right? By that I mean events can happen anytime and anywhere and you have an entire continent to conquer at your choosing.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
That is correct. Not linear at all. Random events can happen any time (Rebellion, war, spying, assassinations, etc) And yep, the map is all of North Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
I started with Age of Empires. Then I discovered Rome Total War, Medieval 2 Total War, Empire Total War and now Rome 2 Total War (came out 2 weeks ago)
Best games ever.

Sounds great! If my multiplayer FPS fatigue increases even more, I may pick this up in the near future.

Right now I'm trying to calm down public order, increasing food/gold to build my army by constructing civil buildings, which at the same time increases public order. I'm currently at peace with everyone.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
I doubt they'll attack me. I'm referring to Cyrenaica btw (modern day Libya).
I'll destroy them as soon as I build an army.

I love the Rome AI, I don't think will be able to play Rome 2 and give up the ability to watch Carthage kill it's own army with their elephants just trying to path to me.

Expanded map. Their best AI till now, and they are even patching the AI now with patches. 3.0 is almost coming out. Your cities could revolt and a new civilization could start. Naval battles (not auto-resolve). Way better graphics. Expanded map.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
Today:
I sent my army, that was camped at Alexandria, westwards towards the Libyan province. After several years I managed to destroy Cyrenacica. I ahd the chance to make them a Subjugate (Vassal) since their culture is different than mines, but I chose to occupy them instead. I have been occupying and freeing or killing people (instead of looting/razing cities or Enslaving the POWs) so my Public Order, which is already bad, doesn't become worse. I just needed one more city to complete the Libyan province. However, it was controlled by the Nasmones. I attacked them, and didn't realize that they had a strong navy. So I captured their city, but in return they captured my coastal Libyan cities (2 of them, which I captured from Cyrancica), including the province capital Cyrene. They seem to be heading toward Alexandria...I trained two Dignitaries in my capital, Alexandria, and sent them over to the Libyan province to spread my culture (increases public order). I also sent two spies to incite rebellion, and sabotage nearby enemy cities. I sent an army east to complete my Nambeta province and I captured the two cities). However, now I'm at war with two fronts, which sucks. I'm also bankrupt. And public order is decreasing.

Here's a map:
My western enemies are the threat:
They took 3 of my cities for 1 of theirs!

That's what happens when your stir up the hornet's nest!
Looks like if you can still command your units in your far western territory, you can try to surround them.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
I only have 2 armies. One in Cyrene, which is the top most western city (they are currently controlling it). I'm trying to take it back. My other army is in Arabia. I can't afford to build another army cuz Im bankrupt. So I ordered my army thats in Arabia to go to Alexandria, but they might get there too late. My capital is currently undefended.

I forgot to mention. Cyprus is my subjugate (Vassal) since the start of the game. However, I can't ask them for much help because they suck so much, and the people are revolting there.

Re: Rome 2 Total War: Egypt Campaign
Just found this out...when you reach too much influence (about 70%) in the Roman Senate (if youre a Roman faction) or Noble Council other Civs...you fight a civil war...like 10-20 stacked armies
NOT MY GAME
Thats freaking insane!
This is supposed to give you the Julius Caeser experience.

I bet you that you won't. They'll kick your ass if you try. Only faction that could stand a chance is Egypt. Know why? Egypt and Greek both have the same culture (Hellenistic) so Culture won't be a factor that adds to instability.Doc wrote:i plan on completely erasing the romans and greeks
