Suicide?

What are your thoughts on suicide.
Discuss.

It's cowardly.

I disagree. Why is it cowardly?

To end life's challenges you take away your life. Why not face the challenges?

Would you say that if put in the situation most people who commit/contemplate/attempt suicide are in?

Give me some examples.

Hm, hard to think of anything of the top of my head. Your parants and family are murdered and your home destroyed, when you are proceeded to be adopted by a
step family that hits you?

Well the government usually gives you to parents that treat you decently. And most times they have checks to make sure you're being treated well.

I would live life and carry my parents' names and honor them.

Medical issues can also be a problem, depression is a prime example.
Somtimes i think people just try to find a way out and suicide is the only way.
For some people its not easy to brush things off and get back on their feet.
Diseases that cause hallucinations and paranoia can also add to this.
I dont know whats after life, but somtimes it seems like a better option than the hell hole than life somtimes is for some people.

Depression is more a psychological issue than a real pathological issue.

What's depressing you? Figure that out, then face it.

I see where you're coming from, but I just can't find an excuse for suicide.

Glad i saw the other side of the fence on this, but lets wait for another persons 2 cents

It's what should be the excuse of population control.

Death before dishonor - AKA defending your nation/community/group's information from falling into the enemy's hands. That's the only acceptable excuse I could think of.

Fighting till death =/= suicide.

That's not what I was talking about. Its more like a Samurai committing suicide before the opposing force can capture him.

Not to some cultures...

Stand up and fight whatever gets in your way... just like that one video that Hotshot posted said, success is and continues to be defined as getting up one more time than you've been knocked down. Life is tough, but going through with it only makes you tougher. Committing suicide is being a pansy.

There is one exception though in my opinion... if you're on life support and condemned in a hospital with the chance of never leaving said hospital, then you might as well take your life since you're not really living at all, and because life support is extremely expensive for your family or whoever is paying for it.
