yes it could, through a war of attrition. America holds strong bases practically encircling Russia from the cold war that could easily be used to cut off a good amount of Russian trade. from there it's just a slow and long trek of propaganda campaigns and waiting for the government to collapse while slowly enveloping boarder territories with the promise of humanitarian aid. If you asking if the us could just go guns' a blasting in and blitz like there's no tomorrow, then no.

I will say the conflict may end in a stalemate. Russian forces have numbers and general layout of their homeland, but inefficient tech. While the U.S. may have superior weapons technology such as the UAV, Paladin Self Propelled Artillery and the M1A2 Abrams, their forces may not be trained for the extremely harsh winters (Just look at Napolean and Hitler's armies). Unless the U.S. invades during the summertime, both sides will wreck their economies trying to equip and train their soldiers and would agree in an armistice to repair their financial infrastructures, as well as appeasing public opinion. That's just my prediction though...

Like I said, if the U.S. attacks during the summertime, they could make a push for Moscow. Having NATO support would also help. The chance is slim, but even if Moscow falls, there would be a large amount of land that would be under the control of resistance/guerilla fighters. Our forces could never control all of Russia and if it actually happened, it would make things easiers for another Communist revolution and could start an entirely new Cold War.
