Helps people know if your product sucks or not. if it doesn't suck I might buy it next time.

Pirating stimulates the economy. Software theft cannot possibly harm the economy. Piracy has been shown to cause growth in the economy, and to produce demand for a product.

There's no excuse for pirating, and of course it hurts the economy. It's STEALING.

It's not exactly stealing.

Taking something without permission and keeping it is stealing.

But cloning/copying/releasing something without permission is spreading and actually helps.

It doesn't help anything. Let's say you do your math homework, everything's right, you turn it in, and you get a zero. That's basically what pirating is to software designers. Someone puts their work and effort into something, and instead of being paid for a sale, they get jipped and they get nothing.

Pirating IS taking without permission and keeping it. That's why it's called PIRATING.

I feel that Piracy ultimately sucks for the movie industry, who happens to be a major special interest group, because people have decided they don't want to pay out the ear to go see a cruddy remake of a dead series/ numerous explosions without a plot. Instead of improving the quality of the industry they attack the life blood of the new society, take for example the recent court case of Kim Dotcom, which resulted in the removal of the popular site Mega(insert what you want here).com

You can't justify stealing just because the people you're stealing from have a lot of money.

So you're saying that if someone kills another in self defense the original victim should go to jail?
