    Philosophically superior? Empty Philosophically superior?

    Post by preid1220 Fri Aug 05, 2011 3:11 am

As the title suggest I am interested in finding a perfect philosophy, And I find I learn the most by debating about philosophy. I beseech each and every one of you to describe ether your personal Philosophy or a historically renown Philosophy, such as hedonism or stoicism, in order for the entire forum community to debate over them.

Perhaps you can consider philosophy in a class room setting as nonsense, But real philosophers why created their own path through debate and contemplation have deeply affected the world. One such example of this is how the Roman empire, under a stoic system, grew to consume the entire Mediterranean. Under hedonism tho the Roman empire, consumed in their own pleasures, fell to peaces.

hedonism thrives in the west today

Romans dominated because they adapted what the Greeks had and made improvements

Not always. Sometimes classroom settings are beneficial. And it isn't philosophical "systems" that a society falls.
