i realized today that I bought the Gold Edition of M2TW (w/ expanded) but so far I only played the main game, and crusades. I had started a campaign in the Britannia campaign but never finished it. So I decided to play with the ones I never played with before.

So I decided to play with the Americas Campaign.

In the game you can play as New Spain or any of the many Native American factions. English Colonies and New France are emergent factions that come later. I downloaded a mod so that I can play as New France and New England.

At first I was going to play as the English Colonies and form the United States...but I thought again and decided to go with New France, and actually destroy any attempts to form the USA . I'm going to enjoy it lol I might play with New Spain and English Colonies later...but I don't think I'll ever play with a Native faction...not my style.

Don't say that to me. What faction should have I used?? This campaign is officially my biggest TW failure ever!

This is mainly due to the gameplay being much different than in the Normal/Crusades version.

This is the reason why I failed miserably.

More: I conquered Havana and soon lost it (rebelled). English Colonies got eliminated by the Mayans.

WHY I LOST:

First of all, the fact that you keep on getting new troops sent periodically to you is a nightmare because of the upkeep costs. I couldn't develop my cities so I wasn't able to support the new troops. So you always need to keep on sending them to fight...no stops.

Secondly, the Apache (brown color) Indians expand very quickly. In order to survive in the game as New France you pretty much need to wipe them out. They were later a pain in the @$$ trying to fight. They somehow keep on getting (sort of weak) stacks of 1000 troops...Also when a city rebels in the US region it turns to an Apachi city instead of rebel.

SUGGEST A NEW FACTION (France, English or Spain) OR ILL PLAY WITH NEW FRANCE AGAIN.

honestly, its more fun to play with the NA tribes ... if you conquer the euros, you get their guns and horses ...

try Teutonic too ...

I dont think that true (maybe true for Aztecs). Also they can't build boats so going places will be a pain...with Francr I had to use ships 90% of the time or it would take forever.

or try crusade campaign on VH/VH with Egypt and lay the biggest beating down ever with Sultan Salah ud Deen (rh)

Sultan Baybars (rh) also appears with his Mamluk army to crush the invaders

Yeah I will. I'll even play with Turks. But I just want try the stuff that I never used before.

Btw in the Teutonic one, the Mongols are a weak unplayable faction...a mod makes them playable

The mod will also work cuz it's a mini mod. It'll be an edited start_descr file that you replace instead of the original one.

just a tip, it may be a good idea to simply disband new army's when you cant upkeep them anymore.

But I actually want them, but I took way too long before I decided to expand.
