greatest general in history

I got two things to say

First you guys are saying Napolian and the other generals fail in country x , y ,x. well that's what makes a general great. You must fail in oder to succed.

However i think the greatest general is Gebgis Khan.
His warfare style was impressive and unique and it got the job done.

Justice is just saying that cuz he is one of Gebgis Khan many offsprings.

No I like Khan cause he used leather in combat... that's really smart...in addition to the false retreats...ect...

false retreats are hardly something he pioneered

I actually think Timur Khan was a better general than Chengiz ... although both were excessively brutal ...

It's one thing to pioneer it's another to succeed and take over most of asia...

Maybe i don't know about that but it's one thing to build on top it's another to start from nothing.

I know this debate is long dead, but just to let preid or anyone know, Khalid (ra) was ONLY dismissed because he was TOO GOOD ... Umar (ra) the khalifa of the Muslims thought that they would start attributing victories because of Khalid and not Allah (swt) hence he relieved him of his officer rank ... there has never been any incidence in history where anyone was relieved of his rank because he was simply too good ... he was simply the best military general and combatant in history ... and eventually Umar (ra) realized what he had done and Khalid (ra) was reinstated ... even when he lost his officer ranking he was still officially the general of the Muslim army ...

Also one last thing I wanted to point out

The conquests led by Khalid (ra) were all PERMANENT

Alexanders territories QUICKLY dissolved after his death ... Genghis Khan's lasted longer but ultimately, the Mongol influence and control diminished .... the British empire also suffered the same fate ... but the conquests of Khalid (ra) remain until today .... the old territory of "Syria" is still controlled by the Muslims ... the same with Persia and Iraq ....
