depression is due to a lack of uptake of seratonin.... the med they give increases the amount of seratonin in ur brain so, technically they should work...
buh genetics play a MAHUSIVE role in this... sometimes depression patients have a perfectly fine amount of seratonin buh its the receptors in the post synaptic cleft that they have a prob with...
its hard to tailor these drugs to fit every single patient so thats why it has diff effects on patients
btw, blood tests ain't gonna help diagnose nuffin for depression patients... seratonon is a neurotransmitter, it helps to pass info between neurons. i don't see how a blood test would actually help
