Animax says Fairy Tail is the #1 anime, voted in Asia.
I don't like it though.

About Trigun, it's a short anime with 50-or-something episodes. It has comedy, action, emo-ness, EVERYTHING.

I believe "anime" is from the word "animation". In a forum I used to visit, they separate anime to "Western" and "Asian" since they have different styles in graphics, story and etc.
