I don't really use Facebook enough for it to really get on my nerves...but I can easily see it's potential in doing so. It lacks good privacy protection, is really addictive, and people could easily stalk people if a user posts where they're going. There's already a picture of the user on their account, so it's easy as pie for an anonymous stalker.

The stalker could also just make an account under a fake name, go to settings and write that they go to "BlahBlah High School", type a single letter in the account search box, and the very first people that come up will go to that school. Even worse, some people post their school schedules, like Math first hour or whatever.

Also, say you're friends with Person A and Person B. But Person A hates Person B and vice versa. Either one could post a negative comment on their profile or even spread rumors, which you would (probably) try to fix, leading to a relationship problem and most likely a loss of two or more friends.

Lastly, if it's on a computer, it can be hacked. Nothing is "unhackable". Hackers will eventually find a way past Facebook security, and from there be able to upload tons of viruses and other crap. Just post a link that downloads the virus somewhere, claim the link leads to something about the earthquake in Japan (or some other event really tempting), and done. Just create a code that automatically "Likes" the link when it's clicked, and the link instantly be recommended to all your friends, and within moments the virus will be on hundreds of thousands of computers, spreading like a wildfire.

I've talked out this in my World History class, so yeah... Very Happy

1.FB has good privacy if you know how to use it. I have my teacher as a friend, and he doesn't know anything about me.

    2. You don't need to put your picture; you could put the info that you want.

    3. It's stupid people's fault and not FB.

    4. Making an app with a virus isn't the same as hacking.

i think facebook has fine privacy protection... but all of the people i know with it dont protect themselves properly.
i know a guy at college 600+ friends, and these are mainly people who he doesn't really know, hes just met them.
This is what i think most people do... but theres not much wrong with that.
It is addictive because its quite self gratifying

I think there are and have been facebook worms (viruses) but there are the proper stops in place to keep you from downloading anything harmful to your computer.

Eh, I'm fine with accepting requests from people I barely know as long as I do know them.

So like, if I can meet them in real life if the need comes, I'll accept them. Though I did accept one kid in a town near me that I don't believe I've ever met nor will ever meet in my life.
