Hey your Honor, I know I killed that guy, but I shouldn't be found guilty of manslaughter. See, that guy killed my friend. I told the cops, but they didn't go and arrest him or anything. Because of that, it is okay for me to kill him myself.

not really :S I mean there's a difference between breaking a law, killing someone, and cursing at someone. i think i would never kill anyone, but there's nothing wrong with a little self defence if your being attacked

thats weird, where i grew up if you repay an insult with the right kind of insult you dont get mugged on the way back from school

lol, actually there weren't many students who you would class as an ethnic minority at my school, it was all about finding the right balance when you got insulted, and keep your head down the rest of the time.

I agree that defending yourself if attacked is quite right. But otherwise, if in a situation like Diabolus's (first post on this page) it mostly is about "an eye for an eye". Wouldn't forgiveness would be better at this point as there is also teh saying that "an eye for an eye would make the whole world blind"?
