Last year, my history teacher said that if China became democratic, it would become one of the richest and most powerful nations on Earth. I don't remember his reasoning behind that statement, though.

It has the most workers and land to work at. It would be like a chemical paradise. The world would end faster (Global Warming style)

I didn't mean a disaster for the world. I meant a disaster for the Chinese masses. The government doesn't know of mercy.

State security in Egypt is like the FBI in the US. the difference is that in Egypt the state security is loyal to the Interior ministry, while in the US it's loyal to the court. The "STATE" security during Mubarak's rule protected Mubarak's throne by clamping on any anti-regime activities in which they would torture people.

Many Egyptians want an end to the State security. Others want to just completely reform it.

    TODAY

State security officers are going to different State security officers and are tryin to burn and destroy many of the documents in those offices, which are widely believed to expose mug corruption. The people started goon to the different offices and surrounding it so the officers can't burn them.

In Islam, no Muslim woman could marry a non-Muslim man. A Christian businessman had an affair with the daughter of a Muslim farmer in Egypt. The farmer's relatives killed him for not avenging his honor of this forbidden relation, then they burned a nearby Church.

WTF? Why would they kill the guy and why would they burn the Church? They are criminals and will get charged of course. The Christians then made a protest against what happened.

What infuriates me is that these 2 people forced many Christian families to leave the village...wth?? That's not Islam you morons.

For a person who could read behind the text, they would know that they wanted to paint their crime of killing the farmer in the colors of religious strife (which all Egyptians Muslims+ Christian) are against.

The army promised to rebuild the church.

The nation's military junta jailed 4 top security officials accused of ordering police to shoot and kill protesters during the country's 18-day uprising that toppled longtime leader Hosni Mubarak. Rights activists welcomed the move as a step toward reining in Egypt's powerful and widely hated secret police. Egypt's new gov't said 365 Egyptians were killed during the uprising, but a group that provided medical and legal assistance to the protesters said 685 people died.
