Dear Ahmed,

It is with great pleasure that I extend to you an invitation to join Fordham University and the Fordham College at Rose Hill Class of 2015.

Admission through our Early Action program is limited to only the most outstanding candidates within a very talented pool of applicants. The Committee on Admission was most impressed with your accomplishments, both academic and personal. It is our hope you will accept our offer of admission for the Fall 2011 semester.

This offer of admission also includes an offer of University housing. The residential experience at Fordham University will not only provide you with a home but will also create opportunities for intellectual, social and personal development. Your place in our residential community is guaranteed for four years.

We are confident that you are the type of student who will take full advantage of the unique education offered at Fordham. Ours is an education where faculty will challenge you to realize that you can never know enough and will encourage you to challenge them with insight and intellect. Ours is an education in New York City, which will offer you the opportunity to engage in a myriad of internships and interact with cultures and culture only available in the world's capital. Finally, ours is an education which embraces our mission - confronting you with the certainty that you can, and must, go into the world to make a difference and to solve the dilemmas of this generation and those of generations to come.

The next step is up to you. To accept your place in the Class of 2015, please complete and return your Enrollment Form along with the required deposits by the postmarked deadline of May 1st. You will also be required to send us your final high school transcript. Our offer of admission is based upon the assumption that you will maintain the same high levels of academic success and personal conduct evidenced in your application for admission.

On behalf of University President Joseph M. McShane, S.J., the faculty and the entire community, please accept my heartfelt congratulations. We look forward to welcoming you to Fordham.

Sincerely,
Peter Farrell
Dean of Admission

For me, it's a safety net. But one of the best safety nets. Its ranked 56 by US News. Its ranked 31 by Washington Monthly Rankings.

As of February 2010, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Fordham's undergraduate program 56th, placing it among the Tier 1 national universities. The Washington Monthly rankings, meant as a public-interest focused alternative to the U.S. News rankings, places Fordham overall at 31st in the nation, a significant gain from the previous year.

As a safety, its pretty good!

Congrats, but safety? Maybe I always looked to Fordham as a bit better than a safety

For a lot of people it's not a safety. For many people it is considered a "match" and even "reach". I said FOR ME it's a safety. And thanks. Smile

Thanks Sayf!

@Flame: Ok I feel I am not being fair. Fordham is definitely not safety. Safety is CUNY, SUNY, others. Obviously a Tier 1 school is not a safety.

It's just that once you start applying to Ivy Leagues you feel that everything else is a safety...

Mellow
I'm technically white and from a public in Connecticut too.
IF I GET DEFERRED FROM FORDHAM I'M GONNA BUST SOMEONE UP. Mellow

Of course, then again, he said weighted. I know places like E.O. Smith run on 6.0's, my school runs on 5.0's (well, honors are inputted as 5.0's if you get an A in them), etc.

Ahmed, he said it's weighted, therefore he probably has something that increases it out of a 4.0.

Yes. A max weighted score for 4.0 is ~4.30

Me neither. We do 100s here. But I am aware of the 4.0 system.
