17 years. I have waited for this day for 17 years. I had achieved a near perfect score on my ACT, taken all honors throughout my entire life, went through hell with 9 AP courses. I have spent countless hours out of my own free time to help others who are less fortunate than me. I spent countless Christmas wishing to Santa for an acceptance letter my senior year. I even own a young, fledgling company with 11 employees, and multiple other business ventures. Any mentally sane person would be able to notice my passion towards my career path, and yet, I have been rejected from the only school that I am even interesting in attending.

Thus, after some critical thinking and discussion, myself and my other friends who have been rejected as well, have decided to go down this path.

Luckily, I have found the Colt .45 that my father had back when he served overseas.

Thank you to all the community members of collegeconfidential who shared those anxious days of countdown, and congratulations to everybody who got in.

I wish you the best in your next 4 years, and I am sure each and every one of you will become outstanding members of society. I just wish I'll be alive to see it.

Forever Yours,
Jack.

Apparently he applied to the hardest NYU school-Stern (business). I'm applying to CAS (college of Arts and Sciences).

I tried to calm him down by telling him that I got rejected by Columbia etc. But he seems certain.

I could see flame doing this 4 years from now. I hope these posts have an impact on flame.

When I was reading it I was thinking about myself. I've already thought about cutting this year. FML.

Flame, as an older bro. that had 3 more years of life experiences, I'll tell you this:

Putting things in realistic perspective well make your life so much better.

BTW why do you want to cut?

@Sayf: The guy who posted the post in the college forum.

@marwa: Here in the US, subjects are not competitive, instead the colleges are.

Cutting is a form of release, alhamdulillah I've managed not to do it yet but sometimes I feel as if I would be a lot happier if I could release all my anxiety and insecurity by cutting.

Oh...I thought you meant cutting class.

And cutting your wrist isn't a form of "release". It's a form of stupidity. Cutting won't get you anywhere in life.

Jack is, without a doubt, the biggest fool i have EVER seen! What idiot would give up their life when they had so much going for them? Anyone who gives up so quickly deserves no respect.

I agree...but there are some crazy people out there whom center their life around something as small* as college.

In comparison to life, college is a small thing.

dunno bro ... kinda stressin slanty

and that was a joke right? no way that kid would srs do that over a fcking college rejection, especially if his stats and resume reflect his intelligence .. and if he really did end his life because of that, then good riddance ... being rejected from a top 5 school while people face MUCH worst out there .. definition of coward ...

I'm sorry but it has to be said ...

I actually agree with you on that one Sayf. I myself felt it during the wait for Columbia's decision. It just adds onto your stress.
