I want to become a more hardcore gamer...
So should I start by getting the PS3 or a Xbox 360? I mean I know I've probably asked this before, but I have about enough money for both systems right now... So I wanna get one system, and a few games.

Reasons: I want to keep up with my Finnish friend and his gaming clan, but they seems to be a bit ahead of me xD

If I were to buy one...I would by the PS3...just my opinion.

I dont like FPS games, so I dont know of any.

How about just some fun or funny games? Like I'll probably do BattleField Heroes for PC because it looks silly.

Well I like RPG, Fighting, Sonic games.

Which is what I'd perfer to play, but I'm trying to get into some Shooters.

dont be hard core, become causal. also get a gaming comp if you want to be hard core, those dudes on star-craft can be very scary.

JJ will tell you...he plays shooters.

Anywho, I'm trying to move a bit away from RPG's.

I love RPGs...I love having other "lives"...but "Real life" is still the best life ;D

PS3 has free online, Xbox will charge you for it but it comes with some extra useless features. I personally prefer the PS3, and some games I play are:
Killzone 2
Resistance series
Call of Duty series
Battlefield series
Medal of Honor
Uncharted series
Bioshock 2

Games coming soon I'm interested in:
Resistance 3
Killzone 3
Battlefield 3
Crysis 2
Spec Ops The Line
Bulletstorm
Homefront
Maybe Uncharted 3?
Ghost Recon Future Warrior
SOCOM 4

Buy:

Halo Reach

Fallout New Vegas, COD Black Ops, GTA 4 (I believe thats the newest one), and Red Dead Redemption are all on the PS3 as well.

Is there any rumors or anything of a killswitch on the PS3? Like how the 360 has the Red Ring of Death?

We have the yellow light of death, but it's very rare. I only know one person who got it, and he got another PS3 later. Other than that, no other killswitches that I know of.

Okay, are there any PS3 systems that you know of that are cheaper, like how the Xbox 360 arcade was super cheap compared to the regular 360?

The only models that are for sale now is the 160 GB ($299) and the 320 GB ($399). The 320 GB is bundled with a Playstation Move, some PS Move game demos and Sports Champions (If you just want to play regular PS3 games, ignore the bundle and get the 160 GB). I bought mine before these models came out (I have the 80 GB model), so now you get more hard drive space with the same amount of money I paid.

Alright, that sounds good. It'll probably take me until after Christmas to actually get it... Which sucks :L
