Anyone help me out please?

Well I got an email today from Columbia

I could tell that this is a customized e-mail and not mass email (I could tell from the signature of the e-mail...it wasn't an official email from the college...but an email from an alumnus there).

I am invited to do an interview with a Columbia Alumnus. They said the interview should be about 45 minutes long and we can determine the location together.

I am VERY nervous and don't know what to do. I need to give her a reply

Just be yourself in your reply and interview.
Say that you would love to meet with him/her, and maybe ask if phone are able to be used sence they're easier to use (to get a meeting spot)

I'm nervous for the interview though. Its 45 minutes...in a casual place probably...like Starbucks or so.

I heard they ask you unexpected question and note your reactions. During the interview they take notes and they give it to the admission office. It may help.

Any questions I should prepare for?

Yes it is. Her email is: nameid#@columbia.edu

Im not going to write the real email. lol

name=insert last name of the alumni
id#=I believe the last 4 digits of the alumni ID

She graduated in '10

So why does she want an interview?

From what I found out, if there is an alumni that lives near your area and Columbia wants to know more about an applicant then an alumni will e-mail (or call) you offering you an interview. An interview could help your chances of being accepted since Columbia will know more about you (as well as give you more info about it).

I like how they make you feel that this is informal so you dont feel pressure

She replied from her iPhone through her Gmail account telling me of a time and place...but I countered her time and place...hopefully the interview's date won't get delayed a lot.

It seems it shall be in a cafe in Manhattan.

It's a good thing that I remembered to ask her about how I will recognize her LOL! Imagine if I forgot...horrible.

I could only imagine how you would look... Wondering where she is, give up, and walk home; while she was sitting at the entrence xD

Well she told me how she looks. And if I really can't find her, she gave me her cell #. Now its just a countdown till Monday.

Yeah... Like that's any better then mine.
If you ask me, just tell the truth and say you're nervous in the beginning of the conversation. Like when you're shaking her hand, say "I can't wait to do this, I'm so nervous." Or something like that.

Columbia likes confident people. That's why I won't say that. Ill just have to man up lol.
