Please Tell Me... Why?

Tell me why you all have chosen your Religions, and why you stand by them so strong.
I have recently converted my religion, and I am not sure if it is perminent, but it's my current religion. So now discuss.

Ok here goes.

I was raised Christian and I attended my local church until I started noticing outside of church no one kept the faith. They did drugs and hurt people. They lied, cheated, stole, and were huge hypocrites. I left the church and told them I would still believe in God but I wouldn't keep the christian label if this is what they were like. I found it disgusting these people thought they only had to be decent people in the church.

Paradox, what you said is one of the reasons that I converted.
I mean if you could actully say that I converted...
But I also hate how religion is caried now a days. It's like just a hobby or a thing to pass time...
I dislike many people because of how they claim their religion,
I also think that's why so many teens are Atheists.

Well, I guess both of my parents are catholic so I automatically become catholic since I was born. As I grow up, I have more experience in life, seeing thing happened around me, I became more and more believe in my religion. For me, basically, all religions are the same. All the religions teach us to love God, and love others like we love ourself. So, it's not necessary to convert to any other religion than your current religion.

IR, that kind of how I see religions too. It seems that to me that everyone beleaves in A God. It's just that with all the different translations that people think that their God is different. But man just wants to find another reason to fight, man just wants to be better then the other.

While a part of my entire family believes in Christianity (Or Catholicism, I don't know), my parents have no care for religion (except maybe Buddhism), so yeah, parents do influence what you believe in.

Plus, I believe science offers more better explanations of how the world is created.

A lot of the things that science says are supported by religion.
For one examplethe three races...
Religion says they're different species, Science says there was 3 starting types of man...

I, like many, was originally forced to go along with things as a kid, but as i grew i took the teachings of the Bible and used them to solve some tough issues i had come across. I grew to accept and love my religion as well as use it to set standards for myself, not others and although i am not perfect i am improving because of it.

I was raised as a Muslim. I always just carried it as a label around but during 7th grade I joined Sals forum and thats when I had my first religious discussions. This pushed me into knowing more about the Islam. That's when I know it was the correct one. And I know quite a bit about every religion from my religious discussions before and school (English class) etc. So I choose Islam as my religion.

I was raised for several years as a Christian, but I thought science made a ton more sense, and, in some aspects, I thought religion was stupid... For one, I don't believe what can't be proved. Second of all, I don't like worshiping two planks of wood (a cross). And more than the others, I don't think one man created the universe just because he wanted it to be there. So I stopped going to church, much to the dislike of my parents, and became atheist.

I know my name isn't on the list, but anyways:
I was born and raised a Muslim. Started to actually read about it myself rather than just comply to everything and believe what was taught.It made a lot of sense. Even though I never doubted my religion, I still wanted my one and only question to be answered, which was how can I be sure that Islam is the true religion? I have officially answered that question with the help of my Dad's wisdom lol and a lot of youtube videos, stories, and actual religous text (not only Islamic).

Back way when, my faith was blind and strong, then when I became suicidal I stopped believing all together but I never really took off the label "Muslim" though it was only by name. After a bit, I got back into being a Muslim and while I don't have faith anywhere near as strong as before, I do know that God exists, don't ask me how, I just have found that Islam so far is the most logical religion I have found.

I'm an atheist simply because it makes more sense than anything else does to me. I don't see the Bible or Koran any more practical a solution than "we just don't know yet." My mom is Lutheran, my dad is Atheistic.

Also, I'd rather not get up early every Sunday morning and apologize for being human.
