anyway lets break down Piccolo vs. Vegeta:

Piccolo actually killed Goku something Vegeta always said he would do, but never did.

When Piccolo was the villain he was 10 times the villain Vegeta ever was and when Piccolo became an ally he was 10 times the ally Vegeta ever was ..

Piccolo never punked out of a fight and fought even though he knew the odds were against him while Vegeta cowers and turns into a little girl when he learns he is against an opponent stronger than him .. which makes Piccolo the more honorable character and shows that he has true pride unlike the false pride of Vegeta.

As we can see, Vegeta is a poor mans Piccolo .. a cheap imitation ... also Vegeta is to blame for Cell reaching his perfect form and for Gohan breaking his arm against him .. also he's the one to blame for setting Buu free .. and he's a n00b for allowing babidi to control him just in order to go ssj2 so he can match Goku .. also lets not forget that girly tantrum he threw when 18 beat the snot out of him .. he got owned by a girl
