I am drinking Snapple (Peach tea...tastes good BTW). The fact is "The average human dream lasts for 2-3 seconds." How is that possible when I feel my dreams are long?

no in sleep you actually spend alot of time in deep sleep where the body truly rest, there are 5 phases of sleep and you spend the least amount of time dreaming. and the 2 sec thing i dont believe.

You don't need to wake up to realize you're dreaming.
You have an average of 7 dreams while you're sleeping.
It's called REM (rapid eye movement) when you can dream.
It takes about an 30 minutes to an hour and a half of sleeping to enter that stage.

Actually you do need to wake up. You just remember the dreams that you woke up in the middle of.

i think there are a few special cases where people can vividly remember there dreams, all of them.

No. I don't wake up and I remember some dreams. Not all and not vividly, I sometimes lose details.
