all this energy

i have been thinking about this in my C1 chem class at school. Why cant we use the process of hydrolizing water in cars. to make things simpler we would invent efficient cars that run on water. they take their energy from the when the water molecules decompose into their elementary molecules hydrogen and oxygen. this would be betta for the environment and constraint global warming.

If you created an engine for that process, it will earn you the Nobel Peace Prize!

would it be possible to trap something like this in a closed loop, to preventing any waste?
