When I closed the internet explorer, like 50 internets popped up. Is this a virus? I ask this because my messed up computer with dozens of viruses did the same thing

Spyware I would believe.
Firstly, if you aren't using a company computer, download the following programs:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php - Ad-aware, get's rid of adware, spyware etc.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US

Wait, does'nt an online protection (a program that scans for spyware and tracking cookies) also protect you from spyware? Because I scan my computer every 2 weeks and sometimes this problem happens.

Re: This is really messed up
Yes, but it depends what program you are using.
If you have money, buy NOD32 for anti-virus, and install the free version of Zone Alarm firewall:
http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?dc=56pus&ctry=GB〈=en
It's awesome, trust me.
Don't ever use IE, it has too many holes, and Firefox is 10x better.

Is Firefox even better than your ISP browser, like verizon for example?

Re: This is really messed up
I'd say so. Firefox is really safe, and updated so often, it makes Windows Updates look like they come every 100 years (which they do).

Re: This is really messed up
Norton sucks, to put in plain words. It does not work compared to NOD32.

Re: This is really messed up
My advice is to get an anti spyware program. If you cant get anti spyware,my suggestion is reboot your computer for a quick fix.You never know when this could happen again,so get something to repel it.
P.S.There right,Norton sucks.This happened to me on another site,but I got anti-spyware.Worked like a charm.

Re: This is really messed up
I would also say its a virus. I strongly recommend to use the aforementioned protections, and definitely use Mozilla Firefox. I personally made the transition about a month ago and its great!
