Is Television a bad influence?

Is television, as many Congress men and women would say, a major contributor to the continued erosion of our moral fiber?

Or is television one of the greatest tools ever invented? One with the inherent capacity to educate tens of thousands of individuals at the same time?

Certain things I would say yes. Like underage children having nearly unrestricted access to violence and sexuality. But shows on the discovery and history channels show that television has potential as an educational tool as well.

I'm 50/50 on this issue.

It depends on what types of shows the tv displays. Like paradox, I say it's 50/50 as well.

I think the computer gives you more rays. Therefore the computer is more harmful.

but the computer is also hooked up to an international social network, and in way allows the mind to expand in unimaginable ways, Back in the 1800's i would never be able to talk to a Brit, a Asian, a German, and a polish kid all at the same time (that was in an interesting game to, quite a wacky bunch)

Well either with other technology, or not telling them. In fact without television, many things would be different, and a greater sort of the population would be not lazy.
