Let me be honest here. In such a case, I view the chat or w/e as a temporary "connector". Just like when you walking in the streets for example, and get attracted to a girl. However, while in real life you may get attracted to her looks, in the chat or w/e you may get attracted to her personality. And being attracted to personality is much better than looks (when speaking about people you don't know). So with that said, if I knew much about the person and I really liked the person's personality. Yeah, then I would tell the person, get to know the person more, maybe see a pic or so, maybe even talk to the person via messenger or w/e...then I seek the person in real life . Then at that point it will either be confirmed if what I saw on the Internet was the real person's personality or not. If everything is all good, yeah, I'll go to her father and propose. If not, then that's it. ..but it's kind of hard to be something in real life, and be a COMPLETELY different person on the internet or elsewhere.
