ok so i want to share 2 little stories that happened to me this week and that really bothered me,i have a question at the end for everybody:
so i was in history and this chinese girl asks me (this is how the conversation goes)
chinese girl:so do you really pray five times a day?
Me: yep
girl:what do you pray for?
me:hmm for God i mean..what do you mean
girl:like what do you ask for?
me: ohhh well what would you ask for?
Girl: bshhh to pass chemistry!
me: exactly that's what i ask for! (isn't it suprising how we're all the same but ppl think we're so different from them?)
another one of my brain losing conversations is in health class:
another girl: did you ever drink? (she asks me this because we were taking about alcohol)
Me: nope
girl: wow! never in your life! will u drink when you turn 21?
Me: hmm not planning on it..it's against my religion to drink
girl:against your religion (ppl she really basically flipped out). but it's the law you can drink..i don't think your religion will have a problem if you drink once in your life.
Me:yea it's the law! not the religion.2completley different things. SO you know more about my religion then I do?how do you know it's fine?
Girl:oh don't get all mad hahaha so you drink holly water hahaha (she thinks she's funny)
Me: ha ha ha ha i don't have holly water in my religion *sarcastic voice* *you think your funny voice*
Girl: don't get all kake!
NOW it's your turn. tell me one of the weirdest conversations you ever had.where people don't get why you do certain things.

lol ok here's one that happened to me once in 6th grade:



class: what country are you from?
sub: I'm from india
this one guy: Hey, he's from EGypt too *points to me*

another one:



dude 1: Where you from, foo
me: I'm from Egypt
dude 1: dats liek near iraqistan or saaamthing
me: um, noo
dude 2: no duh, stupid dere's like a river or saaamthing between thems


Stupid questions, with the exact words:

"Egyptian? Does your parents wear wierd clotheses"
"Do you have one of them tiger cats like in Aladdin"
"WHY YOU NO COVER YOUR FACE?"
"Is it illegal to have fun in your country?"
This one from a teacher:
"Did your parents come here for freedom to practice their religion" (um, we're the majority in Egypt?)
"You're really fortunate that you were able to immigrate here" (i was born in LA County)

teacher: So where are you from?
me: Egypt
teacher: Well, welcome to America! It's great that you're here!


umm......ok? lolz

lol it's sad how much ppl know! it really is.
and i always get headaches from my health class because of the 20 questions

WOW...thats so stupid! Aren't Americans so.....ESTUBID!
Anyways, I have a story too, this was a conversation in school b/w my friend and I:

Friend: Hey Reem, guess what!? We are learning about Islam in World Civ. this unit.
Me: Yeah, cool I am too.
Friend: So, is it true that you pray 5 times a day?
Me: Yes, I have to pray 5 times a day.
Friend: Wow! So, for the prayers that you have to do during school what do you do???? Do you like sneak in the bathroom stalls and pray?
Me: Hahahaha (it really was an annoyed fake laugh)...no I just pray when I get home, I usually have enough time.
Friend: Ohhh, hahhaha...
The end ....

Why would anyone pray in the devils home! I mean c'mon the bathroom!

Another really annoying convo b/w my other friend and I:

Friend: Hey Reem, wanna piece of gum?
Me: No thank you i'm fasting for Ramadan.
Friend: Oh yeaaaaah! I forgot! I'm soooooo sorry I feel so bad (I hate it when they think its like torture or something -_-)
Me: No its fine, don't worry about it.
Friend: So do you ever get hungry??
Me: Sometimes, not really though.
Friend: Well why can't you just take the piece of gum...no one will see you!
Me: Hahaha (fake laugh) I can't do that, besides God can see me! Even so, that would be just plain wrong.
Friend: Hahaha, right, sorry! I just can't believe you can't eat or drink anything for that long!
The end Ugh i've had this conversation with different people like A MILLION times! Its soo annoying! I also hate when they think we can't eat for a whole month LOL...

I also hate it when people think i'm some stupid foreigner who doesn't know english....they come up to me and they're like "HI...MY...NAME..." Its sooo annoying!

i dont' want them to feel bad for me at all.not even when i'm wearing my hijab. they think i'm forced into doing all this

i hate to be the spoil spot hear but if some one ask where you are from and you say Egypt, well then duh they are going to assume you immigrated! no everyone has read your biography =/ and also you being a bit hard on people with different cultures who do want to learn, I know it may be annoying but assuming they are idiots for it is just wrong.
