There is this player mod for M2TW called Stainless Steel. I heard from everyone that it's awesome so I tried it. And it is!

The graphics are very different (better)
The AI (computer) is more reasonable and less stupid
Game is more challeneging overall
America is taken out and Iran and a larger part of Russia is put in isntead.
The wolrd size is massive.
Much more cities
Many new factions such as Lithuania, Order of the Kights of the Templar, the Kwazerdimi Empire, Irealand etc.
And it has 2 campaigns-Early period and late period.


I started with Early. I choose Egypt, whose name in this game is the "Fatmid Caliphate".

Mini-Historical background: The Fatamids were Shiaa Muslims from Tunisa that coqnuered and ruled Egypt and settled there.

I sent diplomats to the Seljuk Tukrs and allied. I sent diplomats to the Kwadermizi empire (A Muslim faction in Iran) and I had to give them presents till they becams\e my allies. Same with the Moors.

I sent my armies to cqoneur much of Arabia inculding Medina and Mecca.

To win as Egypt I had to destroy the Order of the Templar Knights whom were basically crusaders in the Syrian region.

I eliminated them soon enough after they started having some resistance.

Now I need to conquer 30 regiosn and I win...I am playing the short version.

I also allied with Portugal. I did ally with SPian for a while but they attacked my Moorish allies so I broke my alliace with Spain.

I sent a diplomat to Spain and asked for map information...after giving it some money and map information from myself it accepted.

I was playing today and it was actually very interesting. The Mongol had come,the started conquering the Kwarezmian empire. I didn't want war with them so I gave them Mecca and some money and they finally accpeted my alliace after having tried many times.

Soon however the Meccans rebelled agaisnt them. The Mongols called a Jihad agsint Mecca. I quickly got it, since I didn't want the Mongols to take it...

My relation with them kept on straining. It went to as low as "Poor"

Eventually, the Pope called a crusade against Cairo. All Catholic factiosn joined. There was no way I could defend agsint it.

So I destroyed all buuildings in Cairo. Changed my capitol to Alexandria. Moved my army out of it. And gave it to the Mongols (Known in Stainless Steel as the Goldern Horde) and my relation jumped back up to "Reasonable"

Then the next turn Cairo rebelled agaisnt them. I captured Cairo and gave it back to them. The Crusaders came the next turn and attacked The Golden Horde and this happened:

They made all the enemies that I made

At the end the Danish (Denmark) captured it.

I was planning to call a Jihad agsint it but my Imam died due to old age.

well it's good to hear you have friends with the same foes, perhaps you should take over the rest of Africa soon and attack Spain

The orange, Moors, are my Muslim allies. The white is Portugal, but I am leaving the Moors to deal with them.

Also I am trying to destory the Muslim Kwarezmian empire (Persians/Iranians). They were my allies, but my Turksih allies attacked them so I had to choose between them and I choose the Turks.

Omg, I just relaized how much I ahte the Spanish and Byzantine Bastards! I had took 2 settlemets (including their capital (Silves) from Portugal on the Iberian peninsula, since I was helping out my Moorish allies. The Spanish, whom had 1 place left and would have died, tok my two settlemts that were on the Iberian peninsula.

I offered a ceasefire, and they accepted, since I want to focus on the Byzantines for now.

I took Nicosia and Symarthia(sp?)

They took an island from me.

don't trust the Spanish, do the world a favor and just wipe them out so you can focus on bigger fish

They had one city. They grew on my cities

Ill kill them when I kill the Byzantines.
