I do believe, looking through the forums, this place is mostly dead. You have a ton of members, but most of them haven't been on in ages. If it wasn't for Fang, it would already be dead, as most of the new members are referred by Fang. So I have some ideas to help you.

1. Move forums. The forums here seem mostly like just a relic with how many gone members and old topics there are. New Horizons needs a fresh start. Forumotion is also a pretty bad host, I'd suggest moving to Invisionfree or Zetaboards, they are both excellent boards.

2. Give the Nobels a little bit of power. The group is useless at this point in time.

3.Change the GFX group, and add a couple of groups like programmer, debator, or events. Make all these groups free to join, and people can join the one group that most interests them, with 1 secret forum for each group where people can discuss the things that interest them most with the people who only have the same interests as them

Also, the retired mods need the same powers minus a few as mods.

The entire staff should be able to view these secret forums.

I meant the members themselves would get 1 special interest forum based on the groups they choose. The mods would have to see them.
Retired mods should get no powers but staff board.
And what's your argument against moving?

I really shouldn't have voted at all, I'm not sure what moving the forum would do. If any other members want to, I guess I will change my vote.

Forums where people can chat about their interest, and occasional special assignments.

A. To the people voting for staying, I said this so that people wouldn't be confused that it has loads of members, who only few are active. Plus all the dead topics, and Forumotion fails.

B. Change my poll to where you can change votes.

most small forums have many more inactive members than active ones, unless the admin goes through the pointless process of deleting the inactive ones.

And if they ever decide to come back...

But why give the new members false hope on a bad host anyway?

we don't have trouble with the host. why would anyone join a forum based on the number of members?

Because they think that will make it extremely active. That's what I had hoped when I joined anyway.

Sal's has 18,000 members. About 200 are active. Sal's still sucks.

that last line should have tipped you off, i can believe you would actilly think you would be talking to roughly 240 people.

So this forum reached it's peak in early '08, so why not move?

why start again when your already set up?

Why do you hate Forumotion, "..."?

I don't like the layout, the forum icons, and other things.

The layout could change. The icons I choose they didn't actually come with Forumotion.
