You know when you take State (important) exams, and they ask for your race/ethnicity...

I always put "Other", I didn't think Egypt falls under any of them. Later when a person explained it to me it made since that technically I am "African-American" since Egypt is in Africa. So I started marking the "Black or African American" circle.

Today I read:

In the 2000 United States Census, two of the five enumerated races are labeled by a color In the 2000 US Census, the white race, refers to a "person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa." Its very annoying. Why don't they open their eyes and try to understand that the world isn't split into 3 colors (races)> I say they should have a middle-eastern or Arab race option...it's not fair that the Spanish do...

Yes, and I think it is racist to not specify some things in that. There are many more ethnicities than those listed on the tests.

ethnicity is different from race ... and it really doesn't mean that much ... I put Asian down for those stupid tests and they probably thought I was Chinese or Korean or something .... who cares ...

If you are a black person in the USA, you get free scholarship for college, just for being black (The scholarship if from the governement as a recompensation from the times f slavery)
