I gave up on the TW Medieval 2 sicne I did a new game and the Mongols still beat me.
================
I decided to play Total War: Medieval 2: Kingdoms: Crusades
In this game, I picked Egypt (Surprise ). In the previous game, it was Fatmid Egypt. In this game Egypt is led by Salah Aldin (Saladin), which makes it Ayyubid Egypt!
In this game there are 5 factions:
Kingdom of Jerusalem
Seljuk Turks
Principality of Antioch
(Ayyubid) Egypt
Byzantine Empire
These two come later on (non-playable):
The Mongols (Like last game-they come around round 40, and come near Baghdad))
Venice, after the Pope calls the 4th crusade (3rd crusade fails as a ship wreck), Venice goes and conqueres Constantinople from the Byzantines.
As Egypt, I start with: Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Damyetta, Tanta and Siwa. [FYI these are all Egyptian cities in real life and Siwa is actually an oasis]
I picked the short version, which is just to eliminate the Kingdom of Jerusalem and conquer 15 regions.
Once I started the game, I found out that by default, The Turks, the other felllow Muslims, are my allies. The Kingdom of Jerusalem is my enemy. Also the Kingdom of Jerusalem and Principality of Antioch (which is neutral with me) are allies. Byzantinium at first was neurtral with all.
I moved my armies to the Kingdom of Jerusalem. I made an Imam call a Jihad on Jeursalem, so the Turks could help me). The Turks accepted straight away. I accepted too and moved my army towards Jeursalem.
A message came up to me, telling me thatthe Pope had called for the 3rd crusade...later a message came saying that the crusade armies got destoyed in a ship wreck. Later a message said the Pope called the 4th crusade, and the crusade armies of Venice had sacked constantinople and coqnuered it.
Anyhow, the Turks and I waged war (a couple of times) on Jeursalem, till I finally captured Jeursalem, with the help of the Turks. Next I moved my army to Aksalon [In Palestine] and captured it from the Kingdom of Jerusalem. They waged war on me and captured both soon.
I called another Jihad on Juersalem, and after couple of times of war, the Turks captured Jeursalem with my help. And I recaptured Askalon.
Kingdom of Jerusalem and I had a couple of battles on land, some I won and some they won. I assinated a couple (I think 6-7) Priests and come Captains, and a ruling family members, from the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
My merchant was sent to get classware from an area in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, bringing me 99 florens per turn.
The Mongols started coming, and there are terrifiying messages of them that they sacked Baghdad and moving East (Thank God I am on the South-Western part of the map)
That's all today
P.S.: The Map just has Egypt, a part of Arabia and Asia Minor (Anatolia) and Constantinople.
