Egypt Campaign: Kingdoms
I gave up on the TW Medieval 2 sicne I did a new game and the Mongols still beat me.
================
I decided to play Total War: Medieval 2: Kingdoms: Crusades
In this game, I picked Egypt (Surprise ). In the previous game, it was Fatmid Egypt. In this game Egypt is led by Salah Aldin (Saladin), which makes it Ayyubid Egypt!
In this game there are 5 factions:
Kingdom of Jerusalem
Seljuk Turks
Principality of Antioch
(Ayyubid) Egypt
Byzantine Empire
These two come later on (non-playable):
The Mongols (Like last game-they come around round 40, and come near Baghdad))
Venice, after the Pope calls the 4th crusade (3rd crusade fails as a ship wreck), Venice goes and conqueres Constantinople from the Byzantines.
As Egypt, I start with: Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Damyetta, Tanta and Siwa. [FYI these are all Egyptian cities in real life and Siwa is actually an oasis]
I picked the short version, which is just to eliminate the Kingdom of Jerusalem and conquer 15 regions.
Once I started the game, I found out that by default, The Turks, the other felllow Muslims, are my allies. The Kingdom of Jerusalem is my enemy. Also the Kingdom of Jerusalem and Principality of Antioch (which is neutral with me) are allies. Byzantinium at first was neurtral with all.
I moved my armies to the Kingdom of Jerusalem. I made an Imam call a Jihad on Jeursalem, so the Turks could help me). The Turks accepted straight away. I accepted too and moved my army towards Jeursalem.
A message came up to me, telling me thatthe Pope had called for the 3rd crusade...later a message came saying that the crusade armies got destoyed in a ship wreck. Later a message said the Pope called the 4th crusade, and the crusade armies of Venice had sacked constantinople and coqnuered it.
Anyhow, the Turks and I waged war (a couple of times) on Jeursalem, till I finally captured Jeursalem, with the help of the Turks. Next I moved my army to Aksalon [In Palestine] and captured it from the Kingdom of Jerusalem. They waged war on me and captured both soon.
I called another Jihad on Juersalem, and after couple of times of war, the Turks captured Jeursalem with my help. And I recaptured Askalon.
Kingdom of Jerusalem and I had a couple of battles on land, some I won and some they won. I assinated a couple (I think 6-7) Priests and come Captains, and a ruling family members, from the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
My merchant was sent to get classware from an area in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, bringing me 99 florens per turn.
The Mongols started coming, and there are terrifiying messages of them that they sacked Baghdad and moving East (Thank God I am on the South-Western part of the map)
That's all today
P.S.: The Map just has Egypt, a part of Arabia and Asia Minor (Anatolia) and Constantinople.

Well, they are pretty loyal...and theya re always supreme in power..I was supreme but now I am "capable", and my diplomat isn't that experienced...so they probably wont accept the bribe.

Re: Egypt Campaign: Kingdoms
Well, I am dealing with the Kindom of Jeursalem.
BTW, I forgot to mention:
Each faction has a hero (Or in other words, its leader):
Kingdom of Jerusalem: Richard the Lionheart: Immediately rallies any routing units. Called Heart of the Lion.
Egypt: Salah al-Din: Briefly sets all non-routing units' morale to full. Called Righteousness of Faith.
Turks: Nur ad-Din: Briefly increases attack speed and morale of troops. Called Light of the Faith.
Byzantine Empire: Manuel Komnenos: Can cause infighting amongst an enemy unit, essentially removing them from play until order is restored or they are attacked. It can only be used once per battle. Called Byzantine Politics.
Principality of Antioch: Philip II Augustus: Briefly increases attack power and stamina of troops. Called Flower of Chivalry.

Re: Egypt Campaign: Kingdoms
Woah! Today was pretty blah...
The Kingdom of Jerusalem conquerd back Akslaon from me. Later they conquered Jeursalem from the Turks.
I moved my armies and conquered Jeursalem from the Kingdom of Jerusalem. They fought and took it back. I fought ad took it back .
The Turks conquered this city from the Kingdom of Jerusalem (I forgot its name).
The Turks called a Jihad on Antioch. I didn't join, but it was successufl beacuse they captured it.
And the Kingdom of Jerusalem and I have been fighting everywhere (Near there land though). I am trying so hard to recapture Askalon...yet they have good defenses.
I have blaockaded 2 Kingdom of Jerusalem ports (It lowers their income).
My Imam (That had very high Piety) died. Therefore I can't call another Jihad till he gets more pious.
I assissanted some Kingdom of Jerusalem diplomats and 2 of the ruling Kingdom of Jerusalem family members.
There have been riots going on in ALexandria and later Cairo, and thousads of civilaisn died and some soldiers died...so I lowered the taxes.
2 earthquakes hit Alexandria, and the plague has been going on in some of my cities.

You should be able to defeat the Mongols ... the Mamluks of Egypt, who were part of the Ayyubid empire, defeated the Mongols nearly 7 centuries ago ...
Can you actually play as Sultan Salah ud Deen or not?

I know , EGypt Memluk crushed the Mongols . Sadly in the Medieval 2 game, Egypt is Fatmid Egypt and they always crush me!
In the exension (Medieval 2: Kingdoms) it is Ayyubid Egypt (Also known as Memluk Egypt, right?)
And yes you could play as Sultan Salah Al Deen, I was palying as him, but an assassin from the Kingdom of Jeursalem successfully assasinated him -I think....
And Hassan yes there is, if a coup is successful the settlement becomes a rebel settlement.

Re: Egypt Campaign: Kingdoms
Tough was a good and bad day for Egypt, ad the Muslims overall.
Once I started, I had may battles with the Kingdom of Jeursalem. I doing this I re-conquered Askalan. I conquered Alia and these 2 places whom I forgot their names.
The Turks coqnuered Acre from the Kingdom of Jeursalem (It was the Kingdom's capital)
The kingdom was obviously in decline.
Soon a Mongol diplomat came to me, and offered me trade rights and an alliance. I happily accepted.
I called a Jihad on this land part of the Kingdom, and the Mongols and I joined it.
Venice became a vassal to the Byzantine Empire (that means they lose thier independece and soverign)
Soon however, the Principality of Antioch blockaded one of my ports...this is an act of war.
I ignored it for a while, but then I noticed that many armies of the Principality of Antioch were on this settlemt of Turkey, and that;s when it happened-the Turks got destoyed completely. The Principality of Antioch had taken the Turks last settlement...if I had known I would have helped . SO now only the Mongols and I could particpate in Jihad, if it was later called.
I waged war on the Principality of Antioch...I won some and lost some...they coqnuered Askalon...which I took back. They coqneured this other place, and they have it till now.
Rebels took control of Jerusalem, I took it back.
Their have been rebeliions going on in the place that I got from the Kingdom, but I built a mosque with Minarets, and it seems to have calmed them down a bit.
A Byzantine diplomat came to me and offered Map Information, Trade Rights and an alliance in return for $3,405 ...eventhough they were one of the factios that caused the destruction of the Turks...I accepeted...I needed the help.
That's it for today.

Re: Egypt Campaign: Kingdoms
Today was a grand day
I called a Jihad on Jeursalem (Under the Kingdom's control)...but it failed...because of Richard the Lionheart...he was two strong...
Nevertheless, I waged normal war on Jeursalem and I won the battle on Jeursalem...Richard the Lionheart was inside and therefore he got executed
I also executed everyone in Jeursalem...so I don't need to deal with later revolts etc.
Armies of the Kingdom moved South to the city of Alia, which was mine...they sucessfuly took it.
I led an army there to take it back, and after a fierce battle, I killed a General of their's and most soldiers lost their spirit to fight and ran away...I captured 220 of their soldiers and killed 200 something...I executed all the captured soldiers. (They would have gotten me 12,000 Florins if they Kingdom have accpeted and I ransomed them). I didn't need the money because I'm very rich (I have about 50,000 florins )
I sent a diplomat to make a trade rights deal with the Byzantines and the Principality.
I sent a diplomat to invest on gold. (128 florins each turn)
I went north a captured Arsuf from the Kingdom. I exterminated everyone.
I called a jihad on Acre, the jihad was successful and I captured it from the kingdom.
The kingdom is blockading my Askalon port with warships...I tried destoying them a couple of times...but they are strong.
I sank a Kingdomship.
There has been unrest within the Memluks in Egypt...and they are rioting.
The Mongols are coming.
My power is currently "Supreme"
