how come, how can he excommunicate the Holy Roman Emperor?

In the description of the Holy Roman Empire, it said "It is far from holy, with all the wars...and its not Roman, the Byzantine empire is "Roman".

Also I got excommunicated at first with attacking Denmark, after the Pope telling em to stop.

And with the new pope I got reconciled but, I am on the verge of being excommunicated agian

Is it due to wars or something else?

It had a good connection with the Papal states (Its a faction, unplayable). And therefore the pope asked to stop attacking the "felllow catholic" faction for 6 turns, but I couldn't wait to destroy them lol

oh well. Too bad for the pope. What's the status now?

Well I lost my last campaign (I was in 60,000 money in depth). I started a new game and this time picked easy mode (The past tries were medium).

And I WON!!!!



Notice how on the map (Im the balck with yellow outline) on the bottom I conquered, Denmark, Venice and Milan and mostly Hungray!

Also I was the Richest faction in the game, and the most advanced.

I first destroyed Denmark, then Milan, but Venice betrayed me and attacked me, so I did a ceasefire with Milan and attacked Venice, I destoyed Venice (eliminated), I next destroyed Milan (elimianted). I had no more enmies, but to win I had to conquer 20 regions, so I picked war with Hungary, who is an ally of the Byzantine empire. I destoyed Hunagry, till they had one settlement left, then the Byzatine empire decalred war on me, so I instead went to the Byzantine empire and captured 2 of their settlemets and I won!!!

I am so happy I didn't have to mess with the Mongols. (They came about when I won )

Now all factions are unlocked, and I shall pick my true Faction: Egypt!

And the goals for Egypt are to eliminate the Turks and Moors and capture 20 settlemets. However, I did hear that the Mongols will directly fight Egypt once they come (They appear at Baghdad)
