I'm not saying I would hire a prostitute, if people want to do that, they should be able to. It's a personal choice that is an agreement between people.

As for the "why not legalize murder", murder is different. It is not an agreement, it is against anothers will. Therefore it has no relevance to prostitutes.

prostitution is very hard to stop, men and women go into pubs and clubs all the time and go home with people they only just met, the only way to stop prostitution is for the government to be very invasive. most people don't want to share the details of their sex life with the police but that's what would happen if it was completely illegal, unless you can think of a better way to police it.

The end fact is that it'll happen leagally or not, the only diff is if it is still illegal then police can try and stop it.

But the phsco anylist side is, that they break the law everyday and by getting away with it it encourages them to break other laws.

I think the police should act liek agents and go around looking for prostitiutes and jailing them...thats the best way IMO.

that sounds great but you need to remember the police force are a resource and they have important things to do, if they were going after prostitutes they could be bribed, and people would say why are you stopping robberies? or going after real criminals?

im only saying it should be legal because im thinking about the people involved, i think the way some of those people get treated is the worst thing that can happen to anyone, and the laws against isn't helping them at all.

You wouldn't be allowed to be a prostitute if you had an STD, and you must be castrated or have your tubes tide so you cannot have babies, ever, as both procedures are irreversible. Therefore, what is the problem with prositution now?

Oh, it'll become socially acceptable? Well it's already socially acceptable to take your top off in clubs, and dance dirty, so what's socially unacceptable about sex? Given that you have no STDS etc. there are only benefits to sex, pleasure, which prostitutes would have to abide by those rules, therefore, it's a pleasure only transaction. Same as paying for masturbation devices, just with someone living.
