    Computer problem.... Empty Computer problem....

Post by Ahmed Wed Oct 01, 2008 11:40 am

On my other computer desktop (XP Pro.), I keep on getting a black screen when trying to open it, the one that says "Open as Safe Mode, Last good Configuration (or so) , open windows normally..."

I tried all 3 and they all failed to open the computer...is the computer lost for good? Sad

if you want to open the computer, have you tried a screwdriver? Razz

the one that says restore to last good configuration should work.

what did you do before you had this problem? install something dodgy?

Actually its better if you turn off your computer, you will save lots on your electric bill...

Anyways, I just looked on this tech site and they said that if I am not able to access "safe mode" than some computer files have been affected, and therefore its a goner Sad ....this is the 2nd or 3rd time this computer breaks down this year!

i say you have someone who is good inspect yourcomputer and not break it then bring your comt to the repair guy, after he "fixes" it bring it back to the guy who inspects computers and if he did steal your parts go talk to your Lawyer. after you get all his cash use it to buy a new comp

I think the guy that isnspects the computer plus the money that I give the computer fixer will equal the ammount of a new computer (XP computer)

Sue him if he steals it. Take open the computer, take pictures, and if the guy replaces anything he's not supposed to, report him to the police or to your local council. It's quite illegal, and I think you can take him to court.

If you can, do some researching and go to a different store.

Thats kind of hard to do...for example, last time he "fixed" my computer he took out one of the 2 memory DDR pieces and he said that he found that it was broken (eventhough before it was broken the computer never had any memory problems) ...and he said that I should get a new one...my theory is that he took one of the good ones out and kept and and then he just gave me one of his broken one. (Since now the computer before it broke again kept on saying "Computer is low on memory..."

Well you could still format it right? That should probably fix the problem since it just sounds like you lost your windows program instead of the parts of the computer being at fault. Do you know how to format o_o?

Well just stick in the CD for XP/Vista w/e you have. And when it boots it should ask you to "press any key to boot from cd" and just follow through. Format your harddrive..which will err delete everything on it. Soo don't do it if you have important stuff on it.

Well, that's still illegal if he replaces something you haven't requested. You need to put in specifics when you ask him to fix it.

    1. This is a routine problem that is usually not be charged over $30 for, if you are, you are being ripped off.

    2. Who is the computer manufacturer? Dell, HP, or is it completely custom?

    3. If he is replacing parts without your consent. Get him to sign a contract saying he will not, if he continues, sue him, that is burglary, in a way D:

    4. If it is custom, I have a different route for you.

I personally plan to work in IT which deals with the problems all the time. Within a good business system, it would be a couple of clicks and the machine is running again. But we do not have that now. Also, if we cannot get a copy of XP/Vista, we may have to purchase it unless you are open to linux (or want to go illegal :X)
