The color guard started using the word fierce because Christian Siriano says it a lot. Christain Siriano is a fashion designer that says FIERCE whenever he sees an outfit he likes. So I guess in the long run here it means awesome, marvelous etc.

Also there is alot of slang than can change even from town to town. People in my school say kill whenever they want to end a subject or something random happens and they think it is awesome.
