Well guys, tomorrow, meaning August 14, would mark the start of Pakistan's 62nd year as an independent nation. B Day B Day B Day My beloved country, which came into existance at the eve of the British Empire's last great colony, has seen not only monarchy (from 1947-1956, during which Pakistan was Dominion of Pakistan under the Commonwealth),but also republican rule (We became Islamic Republic in 1956), democracy, civil rule, dictatorship, and military control. The journey which began after years of struggle for a homeland goes on a rocky path.

Yet, sadly, we are not their yet. The dreams of the founders are not fully fulfilled. Both nationally and internationally, Pakistan has suffered from massive threats. We lost our wing in 1971 when East Pakistan became Bangladesh. We still fight with India over Kashmir (not militarily). We suffer internal unrest due to the Talibans and internal conflict.

But hope is there!!!

to be continued...

Yes and no...those Bengalis who agree with the separation would celebrate on the 26th of March since that's when they officially became independent, and those who disagree (in very small numbers) would do so today.

continuing:

There is hope because I believe that this generation can right the wrongs. Literacy and prosperity can change our nation's corrupt politics to one of a rising country. While today, the government which claims to be 'democratic' and the will of the people boasts about their achievements (which are very less), I am hopeful that tomorrow's leaders would talk about Pakistan's achievments. I am hopeful that in the coming years, Pakistan's Prime Minister would deliver an address on the flag hoisting ceremony which is patriotic, rather than political (unlike the one delivered by today's Prime Ministers).

Can any of you relate to this?

Well, Ahmed, your situation is similar: A nation which fought and fought to keep its soverignity and independence is now ruled by someone who is destroying the very basics of the nation. Just like in Pakistan the 'democratic' government has done way more harm and too less good!

Just like ours man. So, I guess you know the solution: A movement to liberate our nations from those who eat up all the goods and destroy the country.
