I was just reading the other thread to do with religion and it just showed how little i know about some of the people on this forums religions.

So, I recon I have Christianity down but other than that, it'd be great if you could explain it!

So lets go with this format kinda thing.

Islam:

History: Islam was preached as a religion by Muhammad (S.A.W) during the early 600's in Arabia (in the cities of Mecca and Medina). Islam is a monotheistic religion, and believes in the authority of Allah Almighty (God in English), who is an all powerful and all knowing being. Muslims, the followers of Islam believe that Allah Alimighty sent Prophets from Adam (A.S) to Muhammad (S.A.W) to instruct and teach the human beings to how to live their lives. However, before Muhammad (S.A.W), Prophets were sent for the specific group of people (Ex: Jesus (A.S) says that 'I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (Matthew 10:7)'). while Muhammad (S.A.W), the last of the Prophets, was sent for the whole mankind. The teachings of Islam can be found in the Holy Quran and the sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Historically, Islam spread from Arabia to Africa, the rest of Asia, and Europe a century.

World's ending: Day of Judgement.

Islam is a religion that means "Peace" and "Submission to God". Islam came in the Arabic language. It was preached by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) after he started getting revelations from Allah (In English, God) via the angel Gabriel (AS). These revaltions which he got through the next 23 years became what are known as today...the Quran, which in other words is the Holy Book for Muslims.

Muslims believe in all Prophets, from Adam and Abraham to Moses and Jesus (AS) and do not distinguish any and respect all as they are all God's Prophets.


Islam today is the second largest religion and the fastest growing religion. It is also said by some scientists that Islam will become the largest religion on Earth by about 2040.

World's beginning: Created by Allah

World's ending: After an angel blows a huge trumpet on Allah's commands and any living creature will die and any thing else will turn to dust, than its Judgement day.

FYI: In Islam, Muslims believe in Jesus's(AS) second coming.
