I can not sign this because I truly do not feel that pharmacists are health care providers. While a crucial part of the healthcare system, the lack of patent evaluation or care makes me feel that they no not fit the role of provider.

Pharmacists dispense drugs
That fact alone makes them providers
Even if you ignore the fact that we administer immunizations, counsel patients on how to use drugs, and make recommendations not only to patients but to physicians.

Yesterday, I had a 60 post debate with someone about this and it seems I won because he can no longer response. But anyways,
Pharmacy is moving away from a drug centered profession to a patient focused profession. In other words, Pharmacy is changing to become a more clinical profession. This is a fact and is widely known (at least by Pharmacists, Pharmacy Colleges and the Board of Pharmacy). Furthermore, the current role of dispensers is mainly the retail branch. Other branches do other things. Pharmacists in hospitals for example are allowed to prescribe after receiving the doctors diagnosis.
Please sign it.

Well this is about US Pharmacists. They study for 4 years + 2 to 4 years of undergrad to get a doctoral degree.

Maybe he just gave up on you instead of his view like I have... What's logical to me isn't to you and vice versa most of the time. It doesn't mean either is right or wrong, there's just nothing left to say. And I don't mean any of that in a mean way.
So I did some research and I think the pros outweigh the cons. I cropped some stuff from an article written by a real pharmacist with a Doctorate (so it's naturally biased) but it makes complete sense nonetheless.

It would make medicine cheaper. 'nuff said. I signed it.

Most likely nothing. This has to be pushed through Congress, doesn't it? They are completely incapable of settling the tiniest damn thing.

Yes, Pharmacists are trained to administer injections such as Pneumonia or Flu shots.
Pharmacists also prepare IVs at hospitals.

The largest problem I could see is if pharmacists don't know allergies and certain medications whcih are created differently for the same thing could adversely affect the patient

How many years does a pharmacist need for education compared to a health care provider?
